homesick draft

Well ,this is my sketch for my thesis animation series, named "Homesick." It will be an narrative film without a story line. Anyway, I'll post updates when I develop more.
My question is: should I add color to it(say, very very light watercolor)? please let me know what do you think. Thanks in advanced.

Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?

Lately, my lady is whining about her creativity. I hope this VDO might trigger something for her and all of you who need to improve creativity.

Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining (and profoundly moving) case for creating an education system that nurtures creativity, rather than undermining it. With ample anecdotes and witty asides, Robinson points out the many ways our schools fail to recognize -- much less cultivate -- the talents of many brilliant people. "We are educating people out of their creativity," Robinson says. The universality of his message is evidenced by its rampant popularity online. A typical review: "If you have not yet seen Sir Ken Robinson's TED talk, please stop whatever you're doing and watch it now."

Kyle Cooper

Kyle Cooper is one of those legendary people in the industry(and he’s still alive). He made it possible that movie titles sometimes can be even more interesting than the movie itself. It’s worth to spend some time to check every single work from his studio.

Kyle Cooper是業界的傳奇人物之一(而且也還活著)。他讓電影片頭有時候比影片本身還有趣。值得花一點時間看他的工作室studio團隊所作的每一部作品。

The Book of Spam presents Toastvertising

My professor show this in class, and I think it's very interesting, cute, and yummy~
this is a promotion clip called "toastvertising" for the book "the book of spam."
Also, take a look of the the making of.
我在上課時看到這段影片,覺得很有趣,可愛,及美味。
創作者給這段影片取名為“土司廣告“,是為了一本介紹罐頭肉品的書作的。
另外,也看看製作過程吧!

People are soft - Pontiac New TVC

This is the latest Pontiac campaign. I think the TVC does the job, but still can feel that they were trying to be too hard to be artsy.

Babies cry to donation

Orange came up with creepy interactive ads to rais money for HIV-infected mom and their babies. The campaign has a VDO of baby crying on donation boxes with a copy, "Your donation makes the different.". When people walk pass the box will send Bluetooth text message to their cell phone said, "Do you hear a baby crying?" When the people put money in the boxes, the VDO baby becomes happy and smile.

Interesting and very creepy.

Counterstrike VS AIDS - In-Game Advertising

In-Game Advertising to promote young people and online gamers to use condoms. This campaign ran in German. During the campaign, every online player would see the promotional message as he entered the game

I only wonder. Why did they bother promoting AIDS and condom campaign to online gamer? They are gamers. They won't have sex anyway.

Why Design? - Philippe Starck

Legendary designer Philippe Starck -- with no pretty slides behind him -- spends 18 minutes reaching for the very roots of the question "Why design?" Along the way he drops brilliant insights into the human condition; listen carefully for one perfectly crystallized mantra for all of us, genius or not. Yet all this deep thought, he cheerfully admits, is to aid in the design of a better toothbrush.

One Watches - Try It On Catalog

One idea about treating generation C consumers is to let them try. If picture on a brochure are getting dull. Try making them more interactive. See. Interactivity is always cool.

The Voice of the Street - Guerrilla Art in Collaborations

Humburg, Germany uses interactive solution to reach and interact with Guerrilla artist community. The creative team combines cell phones and web application to let the artists credit their works and get comments from the viewers. A good approach to make the world a better place using interactive media. This is not about just art. It's strategic thinking. Maybe as a today's artist, thinking about your work visually is not enough. Community is an art element that an artist has to know how to utilize too.
